Childtime Institutions (continued)

“I told you he was awake,” said one who stood near the front of the trio.

Perez judged him to be just under two meters tall. He was unnaturally thin, with short, close-cut blonde hair with dark ends. His fingers were unusually long and slender, much like Perez imagined a professional pianist’s might be. His eyes seemed unnaturally dark for someone with such fair skin and hair. Perez guessed that they contained either implants or encoded contact lenses.

The man to his left grunted in response. He was several centimeters shorter than the tall blonde man, with glossy dark hair brushed back over his head. He eyed Perez with a narrow-eyed look that the patrolman recognized. Given the chance, the man would like to beat Perez to death. Whether in a fair fight or not, Perez could not tell for certain, but the man had that almost feral look that he had seen too many times before.

Probably hopped up on exadrine as well.

The third member of the group stood between the other two in height. Stockier in build, it took Perez several moments to try to decide whether they were a man or a woman. Even then, he was not certain. A cap with camouflage pattern that matched her fatigues was pulled down tight over her head, hiding her hair. The brim of the cap cast a shadow across her features, making it even more difficult for Perez to tell for sure.
